Artist description
People coming to a CellarFolk gig will experience an impulsive and colourful mixture of Irish folksongs and self-written pieces. Instead of being a cover-band CellarFolk emphasise song-writing to tell the audience about their own encounters and incidents.
The four musicians are inspired by the different cultural aspects they met during their stays in countries like Ireland, France, Spain, Marocco and Germany. They perform music that consists not only of celtic-irish elements but also includes blues, worldmusic and other country's traditional folk-styles.
Perfect arrangements are not as important as improvisation and spontaneity that arises when the audience becomes fully involved in the music.
So it does not take long until the listeners support the songs with their voices, hand clapping and dancing to the driving Jig.
