    Artist description
On each of my pieces I've done all of the writing and the majority of the recording/ performing myself. A lot of my music is inspired by film scores, which I've wanted to compose ever since hearing James Horner's music for "Braveheart." There's also a lot of repetition in my pieces, but in all of these instances- especially in "Mysterious Realms" and my "Five Stages" symphony- I'm using the repetition to establish a certain atmospheric mood or human emotion, and I feel in all cases that I succeed in doing so.

Phillip Glass, Brian Eno, and David Bowie(?) have been mentioned, but my goal is to create a distinct cinematic style for myself. I certainly hope I've accomplished that.

    Press Reviews
"The music that SHOULD be in the movies!!"- Joel Kanning, an MP3.com artist; "Unbelievably dramatic music! Brian's works are unique cinematic soundscapes. He draws you into imaginary movies, creating whole worlds of soothing ambience and dramatic pleasure."- SoulFlyer, an MP3.com artist; "At times these compositions can get downright spooky, first lulling you and then raising the hairs on your neck with eerie, minimalist rhythms and synthesized reverberations."- Listen.com; "Very interesting work of yours! Though it's hard to believe that you mainly use digital synths. Some sounds sound like they would be coming from analogue gear. Amazing also how creative and expressive-dramatic your composition is. Great visuals!"- Rising Star, an MP3.com artist; "Listen to this guy if you liked the B-side of 'Low' by Bowie...lots of the same brooding, floating mood"- brianogrady, an MP3.com artist; "...you've overcome the problem that MIDI almost always sounds extremely cheesy, you have a talent for melody and atmosphere"- DennisOBrien (A Star for Effort)- an MP3.com artist; "Cinema for the ears!"- Robert Scott Thompson, an MP3.com artist; "I enjoyed the interplay of emotions...an experimental probing of emotion"- StrangeCloud (the Indie Journal) on "Five Stages"- "Denial"; "...a great piece of music! It's very soothing to the ear. It pulls you right in and puts you in a tranquil dreamstate, sort of musically massages your soul. Nice work."- Vince Vrbancic, an MP3.com artist, on "Peaceful Meditation"; "Eerie, but the sun breaks through during parts. A certain warmth is held all the way through."- Liquid Circuit, an MP3.com artist, on "Chant of the Vocoder"; "emotive, ambient, flowing tunes and strings...unlike a lot of ambient tracks, this one has good progression and it keeps the interest...when played in a big room with loud speakers, it is really good...a very involving track, and I like it"- PaulC, an MP3.com artist, on "Peaceful Meditation"; "Very mellow, very soothing. This is music to play at night to lull you peacefully to sleep...quite intriguing...skillfully woven and intricate. 3 Guitars; good, enjoyable listening"- Shannara, a music/entertainment journalist, on "Ethereal Atmospheres"; "Immersed me in Fantasy Worlds-Mystical!!"- Tiffany, an MP3.com artist; "The mood was both mysterious and somber at the same time...could hear classical overtones throughout...very well put together"- Rane Shephard, an MP3.com artist, on "Creative Beginnings (Edit)."
