They've been generating a buzz on the airwaves for several months now. . .
Chess, anyone?? Where have I been hiding?!? BISHOP STRIKE are a new name to my ears, but apparently they've been generating a buzz on the airwaves for several months now...And after listening to their debut CD, I can see why...With a little help from a few of the local radio stations, this five-piece atmospheric, hard rock band has all the potential to become a mainstream success story.
Although their musical influences seem a little obvious to me, BISHOP STRIKE still manage to keep all of their songs fresh and original. By combining elements of Alice In Chains with the softer side of Metallica, they create some rather distinctive and unique material of their own. I especially like the dynamic blend of acoustic and electric guitars, which both add a lot of texture to the overall sound, and also complement the heartfelt, passionate vocal performance by singer Jay Carey.
