Artist History
Things sometimes just happen because they are supposed to.
At a party on New Years day of 1997, Chiate (Keyz Kinadeeyz) and Christopher
(Order) Like were introduced by their girlfriends. Keyz, a emcee veteran with
connections with the local hip hop underground and Order, an experienced freestyle
specialist with hopes of creating music professionally, had no problem clicking.
An instant bond was formed. The two had no problem growing together and
nurturing their love for the hip-hop nation and it's music. Soon, their friendship grew
into something nothing less than brotherhood. However, paths sometimes go in
unexpected directions on their way to the correct destination.
Order decided to pursue a college education in Virgina. However, this path didn't
work out and so he made his way back home to Columbus, Ohio after 3 months.
Within a few months of Orders return he was reunited with Keyz and in January of
1998 they recorded their first song "You Can't Get Something for Nothing" on Kid
Magic Rocks mixed tape, Beats, Rhymes, and Cuts under the name Architechs.
Something great had started, but more was just on the horizon. With the addition of
two longtime friends of Keyz: Rodney (Mirage) Banks out of the Bronx, a
charismatic and very talented emcee and Terry (Di-Man) Toles from Columbus, a
direct yet metaphoric emcee the group got even tighter. Then along came Chris
(Chaos) Cobbs from Cleveland, a friend of Order whom he had been flowing with
since the first freestyle. Now the cornerstones of the pentagonal pyramid were
formed and completed.
Currently the Architechs have over 50 songs to their credit and with the increase of
not only more emcees, but friends, intellect, personal growth, writers, artists,
teachers and students, about a dozen live performances, countless hours of practice
and writing, and then endless hours in the studio. Using only honor and experience
as their guides, the CD entitled Honor Amongst Men was laid and distributed.
Without contract or financial backing, these young men reached into the depth of
their souls and made the album with blood sweat and tears, dedication, careful use
of time and with the raw push of their will. Through this, the 1st child of the
Architechs was born: Honor Amongst Men. |
