Artist description
Andhrimnir are a five-piece Metal band from the middle of England, born from the ashes of the one-man project of the same name. Andhrimnir's influences stem primarily from the 80's thrash metal scene - legendary bands like Kreator, Venom, Destruction and especially Celtic Frost. However, much inspiration is also drawn from the blasphemic grimness of the early 90's Scandinavian scenes - the hypnotic guitars of Darkthrone or early Thorns, the atmospherics of Emperor and the total insanity of Marduk at their wildest. Taking these influences and combining them with an appreciation of classic Metal songwriting, Andhrimnir hope to create a unique sound that blends accessibility with unadulterated brutality and rawness. In a live situation, Andhrimnir strips away the keyboards and ups the tempo for an explosive sensory onslaught, the likes of which has never been heard before. Catch Andhrimnir live throughout the UK in 2002. |

Press Reviews
"[a] subtle mindwarp... depth and substance well beyond typical 'evil' fare..." - Mark Gollihur, Gods of Music (www.godsofmusic.com) / "Slow and dark. As though you long forever to return to the source... very creative... the music is a expression of darkness and depression, which we only feel when drowning in this temporal hell..." - Jeff Woodruff, The Awakened One. / "A middle England trio..definately at their wildest!" - KERRANG! Magazine. / "[Andhrimnir] kick out their own brand of blarey Death Metal. I can't say I like but at least it keeps them off the streets." - Here Be Monsters fanzine (UK). |
