    Artist History
Guitarist, songwriter, bandleader, vocalist, producer, and internationalBlues Ambassador, A.G. Weinberger is arguably the very central figure in the Romanian Blues community. He cut the very first Blues album in Romania, and hosts and produces the nation?s only regular Blues radio programs. His national broadcasts reach half a million listeners weekly. He has initiate and worked with members of every known Blues band in his country, and has inspired his own cultural revolution of sorts, bringing the Blues, to a new audience. This unforgettable Bluesman is a giant, in terms of his monumental efforts to popularize the Blues in Eastern Europe, and in terms of his monumental stature and stage presence. Hailing from the fabled region of Transylvania, and named Attila Iuliu Weinberger after Attila the Hun and Julius Caesar, A.G. stands six foot five and tips the scales at 255pounds. His life has been dedicated to the Blues with missionary zeal, reflecting his concept of the Blues as a spiritual devotion, as well as an artistic outlet. He founded the first Romanian Blues club, Black Cat Bone, in Bucharest in 1993, and cut the album "Good Morning, Mr. Blues!" in 1994. Since his entry into the Blues, he has shared the stage with Al DiMeola, John Mayall, Chick Corea, and James "Blood" Ulmer, in Romania and Hungary. His second Blues album, "Standard Weinberger", earned the recognition of the Romanian Composer's Union, which has never formally recognized the Blues genre, awarding it "Best Jazz Album of the Year" in 1997. His telecast concert, promoting the release of "Standard Weinberger" in 1997, was viewed by an estimated television audience of 4 million viewers.Performing as the only non-american act at the 1998's Bluestock National Blues Convention and Showcase in Memphis, TN, A.G. hopes to broaden his own contacts. In 1999 he releases his third album - "Transylvania Avenue", out of which 3000 units were sold during the first three month on the market.
