Artist History a nihilist viewpoint (anv) formed early in the year 1998. members keith feighan and sean ferreiro had been playing with emo/indie band forty two, but after releasing their first recording in late 1997, forty two dissolved due to lack of enthusiasm within the band. feighan and ferreiro maintained a close friendship, and soon decided that they wanted to experiment with a different musical territory: industrial. after building a modest home studio, the two began composing and recording new songs. soon they realized that the direction their music was taking was more diversified and organic than typical industrial. feighan and ferreiro decided to spend the time to explore and experiment with their music, pushing their available technology toits edge. after months of recording, a nihilist viewpoint’s first demo was finished. in drive toput a full band together, feighan and ferreiro recruited a friend, sean sarles. sarles was originally recruited to play keyboards during live performance, but it soon became apparent to ferreiro and feighan that he had more to offer. the band once again went back to composing, and spent the next two years recording, completing over thirty songs. feeling that they had completed an album’s worth of marketable material,anv began to self produce c.d. s on their own label, inter[over]active communications. since then, anv has been developing a following in and around the philadelphia area. their songs “the chamber strings have been retired”, “yesyesyes” and “weakness” have all been played by prominent industrial/ebm/goth djs, featured at philadelphia clubs shampoo and transit. they have also been played by westchester university radio, as well as drexel university radio. anv is now preparing their live performance.
