Artist description Marker was formed in Santa Cruz, CA during the winter of 2002 with one purpose: To rock. After the dissolution of their previous band, No More Heroes, drummer Jason Meyers and bassist Cory Adkinson (who is also playing bass in the straight-forward punk band Frankie Lyndaine and the Scabies) went searching for a new guitarist who could realize their vision of fast, hard, rocking music. After meeting Garrett Baldwin(ex- Thumbs Down, Craig's Brother) through a mutual friend, their search was over. The band came together better than any of the three could have hoped, hashing out a full set worth of material in just a few short months. In this time it was decided that Garrett would handle the vocal duties as well, much as he had in the locally beloved Thumbs Down. In April of 2002, the band retreated to the studio to record their debut EP. Recorded by Adam Myers and produced by the band and Nick Handley, the 6 songs on the CD are an astounding blend of hardcore, rock, melodic punk, and even some 80's metal thrown in for good measure, all topped off with amazing guitar harmonies and introspective lyrics. Combining the very best of all these genres, an exciting, energetic live show, and a true passion for the music they play, Marker is sure to turn some heads both locally and nationally. The band will begin touring come summer of 2002, so come on out to a show and be ready to be rocked!
