Artist History
Love and Death formed in 1999 when the two members met at Toronto's Second City where they were performing the cult musical from Chicago Co-ed Prison Sluts. Sean was a solo act who had two videos on Much Music and had won a scholarship from the Canadian Music Publisher's Association (CMPA). Ross was the lead singer of a local R&B band called Sonarcotic. The two spent three years writing and recording their first 12 song CD entitled The Very Best of Love and Death. The CD was released on April 25th 2002 at The Tim Sims Playhouse in downtown Toronto.
While they were recording it the two performers also rose on the Toronto comedy scene. Jamillah Ross is a regular cast member of After Hours With Kenny Robinson on the Comedy Network, The Second City National Touring Company and Liocracy with Leslie Nielson. Sean Fisher's musical comedy act The Goatee Boys were nominated for two Canadian Comedy Awards and starred on Cream of Comedy on the Comedy Network. |
