Artist History
1996 was a strange year. Not only did it see the beginning of a phenomenon, but it also saw the cataclysm of events that would follow. On the 22nd of August, late afternoon, in a garage crammed with potential, three local lads – friends, suddenly recognised an opportunity. At first there was fear, then excitement, then fear again, but all this contributed to an overwhelming feelings between them that they should form a band.
To this day, the government has failed to relinquish what actually happened in that garage, and the clutches of power remain firmly enticed around the band, protecting them from unwanted and unwelcome visitors.
The influence of Sonic Youth, The Cure, Girls Vs Boys, Kyuss, harsh northern weather and the hill of ‘Pendle’ which undoubtedly cast a spell of fortune on the trio, all played vital parts in providing Missed-Her-Bliss with an aurora of enchantment and mystique.
The cauldron was reaching boiling point. A noise of darkness emerged.
After playing several gigs, they recorded a demo. This was to secure them dates at key venues such as the Roadhouse, Night and Day Café, The Star and Garter and Kalieda in Manchester, as well as the Underworld, Bull and Gate, Red Eye, LA2 and the Dublin Castle in London, other gigs across the country were performed in rooms where the crowds were unaware and too drunk to care.
The tape also secured radio airplay, a space on the ‘From Out of Nowhere’ Compilation on Addiction Records, and most importantly the chance to put an album out on general release through Holier Than Thou Records/PHD Distribution, thus proving the powerful effect of their music on the people.
The band have now parted their ways with Holier Than Thou and have released a new EP, "8-bit champion" trough addiction records. The band will be blowing much lesser bands off stage all over the country to promote it. Their originality, and divine taste in quality music creation is piling pressure on those with even the most stringent of music beliefs.

12 Daze of Christmas – Big Hands, Manchester, 15/12/01
As I take the pen shaped baton from the obliging Mr Octagon, dark, menacing vibes begin to emanate from the stage, on which 3 shadowy figures skulk in the demonic green and red light. And then, God save us, they begin to play. It may be Christmas but MISSED HER BLISS would be much more at home as Satan's little helpers. These guys are heavy with a humungous, monolithic capital "H" . Their third song in particular features the darkest most bowl curdling bass line in the known universe. We're afraid, very afraid, especially when they quite spectacularly beat the living shit out of "We 3 Kings". Truly wicked stuff.
Roadhouse, Manchester, 8/1/01
Next up, and fresh from a blistering 12DAZE performance are [MISSED HER BLISS]. This band just go on from strength to strength having already moved on from their earlier sound of last year. The intensity is extreme, the noise intimidating and the energy literally nerve wracking. There's a heavy presence of hard core nu-metal bass lines, savage punk noises and a snarling vocal delivery. The whole package from this 3-piece is unbelievably powerful and incredibly tight. The quieter moments offer up the clean strummed electric guitar and a soft, but rasping vocal, before it switches to a distorted overload. Frankly an experience that is worth repeating. Uncompromising, challenging and exciting. Watch this space.

(4 Track CDEP, Self Released)
MHB have been around since 1996, and after a couple of releases are still going strong, but still need some more material out. This demo will probably get them that, it's strong but varied at the same time. 'Mea Culpa' kicks things of with a bang sounding very similar at times to a Uk Thrash band called Dearly Beheaded (Music For Nations), this song is very metal, then next up you have the bass driven 'Spooks' that would not be out of place on a Girls Against Boys CD. This is followed by my favourite track on here 'Tenafly Viper' which has a great Grade-esque chorus, whilst the verse calms things down, very good song this one. Last but not least 'All That Happened After' where the vocals and to some extent the music remind me of Placebo. So as you can see these lads have a varied taste and according to there Biography their pretty damn proud of their diversity, and seeing as there a 3 piece they have a really full sound and the vocals are pulled off well on all the styles shown here. I personally think that they make their musical boundaries too large, which puts you in position not remembering a particular style, but rather the gothic name.
Summary : A good and solid demo, which should get them label interest

Night And Day Café, Manchester, 9/4/02
(Missed-her-bliss). They say that with pleasure comes pain and with Light there is Dark. So if Bernard was our pleasure and light then these rolling juggernaut-esque "Rock Bastards" were our Pain and Dark, and were only at the Night and Day last night to shred the eardrums of anyone who had drifted in to the venue expecting a continuation of the melodic acoustica. Loud as hell, possibly too loud in points as songs were endured to the bitter raucous end rather than listened to and enjoyed with a bob of the collective minusmoney heads. I for one ####ing loved it with one song (forgive me I do not know the names of the songs, i didnt note the set list), a 3/4 timed fella which is what "A Design For Life" should have sounded like if it had been written by a Manc based Sick Of It All with more to worry about than if your rhythm guitarist is going to turn up or not. A furious and powerful set played out by a highly energetic frontman who threw himself, literally at times, into his perfomance whilst his bass playing co-hort lurked menacingly away from the spot lights and must have been punching the living shit out of his 4 stringed weapon to create the unforgiving rumbling basslines which (missed-her-bliss) used to a great effect. A set that rose and occasionally dropped to reveal a more melodic aspect of the band who lulled us in using this little trap then twatted us in the jaw as they steamed back into what they knew best. A finer example of music to Rock Line Dance to you will not find. (Honestly, Line Dancing is the new breakdancing).
