    Artist History
AETERNUS SUM is born around the beginning of 2000 in Caracas, Venezuela. Henry Crescini on guitar and vocals y Gil González on Drums had been playing together since October 1998 in a covers band, harmonizing their various influences between Progressive Rock and many other styles. After writing several song, José Benenati (with whom Henry had been playing before in a Prog-Thrahsh-Speed band) joins them on bass. Being so hard to find a keyboard player, the group decides to appear as a trio, doing their first concert on May 13th on the live TV show “El Garaje”, were they’re not only heard by around 200 people in the studio, but for all the people who watched the show across the whole country and even some places in America. After the show, the group receives many different comments, with the common element of consider them as a different band in comparison with most of the venezuelan rock scene. Later on, the group makes attempts to work with a keyboard player, not finding anyone responsible enough, so they keep as a trio, making in Julio their first demo recording, a CD with 4 tracks recorded live on rehearsal. 2 of these tracks are broadcast in Caracas on the radio show “La Esencia”, the most important of its genre in Venezuela. On September 2nd, the group plays their second concert, this time at a small pub in Caracas (“Norte 6”), achieving a little more recognition on the underground scene. The songs they write after this concert show some sound changes in the band, alternating their early Prog-Metal influences with other or a more open range. On November 2nd, the trio plays at the Contemporary Art Museum in the near city of Maracay, being very well treated by the audience and the Museum personnel. On November 7th they play at a more pop/new-metal oriented pub in Caracas, which didn’t help them to get many positive comments. On November 18th, they play at a pub (“Brooklyn Bar”) in the near city of Los Teques, besides two Heavy Metal Bands and to an audience that only wanted Metal without many complications. However, their demo is broadcast on the radio “Radio Metal” in Caracas. With the arrival of the new millennium, new sound changes come to the band, new and different influences, specially those of venezuelan traditional music, are summed with those already existent, increasing the variety of sounds that the trio used to work with, even adding new instruments to the guitar/bass/drums format. On February 16th, they play again at “Norte 6”, achieving their best gig ‘till that moment, with a great audience. On March 3rd, they have their first radio interview on “Radio Metal”. On March 30th they play again at “Brooklyn Bar”, showing more security about their new mixture. On June 10th they have another succesful gig at a record store in Caracas, were they are heard by an even better audience. Later on, the trio starts working on recording a new demo, this time recorded track by track, at MM Studios in Caracas, with the Engineering and Keyboards of Jesús Sánchez. During this lapse of time, they have only one gig, at a pub located outskirts Caracas, on November 30th. On January 2002, their new demo, “World Of Changes” is independently released, featuring 4 tracks totally different from those of their first recording. This new cd is played on the radio shows “La Esencia” and “Holograma”, the last of these in the city of Maracay. Henry Crescini is interviewed in behalf of the band on both shows. Later on, they are interviewed on the radio show “Más Ajazz”, on the Cultural Radio Station of Caracas, achieving a little more recognition from a more specialized audience. On May 18th the trio plays a successful gig at a Metal Festival in Maracay, surprisingly achieving more respect from the metal audience and the other bands. The group is invited to play at the Caracas Art-Rock Festival, the first Venezuelan Progressive Rock Festival, coming soon. Nowadays, Aeternus Sum is working on new songs and looking for new opportunities to show the audiences their new achievements.
