The Eighties pop sensibilities, the lush harmonies delicately laid over infectious, melodic rock, the vintage tone plus a slice of modern edge; all this is surely too much for just one person to achieve. Well, as your mother always warned you, never judge by the name alone. Susie Blue is in fact an individual, but with the addition of four uniquely talented musicians, the rock solid band is formed. Assembled from various backgrounds and one stolen phone call for another bands audition, Susie Blue (vox/gtr), Jay "Jin Jin" Caruso (gtr), Rod Steward (drums), andru (bass) and Beth Kelly (kybrd/ backing vox) all bring their experience and love of rock-n-roll to the music. The Portland scene is thriving, and Susie Blue finds itself fitting quite comfortably in the middle of it all, but not without higher aspirations. A recent trip to San Francisco for a show at the legendary Bottom of the Hill, with radio support from KUSF, was met with great success and an invitation to come back opening for a select national act in the near future. With their consistently energetic, driving, no nonsense live shows, Susie Blue is creating loyal fans at every turn. A rare opportunity to see a band that is as good live as their recorded material.
