    Artist description
Postmodern Distress Signal is an amalgamation of many varied musical styles. We are focused on providing our listeners with our version of Rock. Our many influences can be noted in the "bands we sound most like" section, though this section was designed to try and help listeners find us by listing bands that would lead people with similar tastes in music to our site when they click on the "similar artists" link for that band. While our musical styles and influences span many genres our musical philosophy is firmly rooted in a subset of punk rock we like to consider DIY music. That is, all of our music is written, preformed, recorded, mixed, and mastered by us in our home studio and to date, independently released by us as well. (Though we are in active pursuit of an independent label to distribute us.) We will not preach here about the politics represented in our music instead, we'll let the music speak for itself. So if you've found yourself here at the end of this rant on who we are still wondering what the Distress Signal of Postmoderninity sounds like, please venture over to the free downloadable music we have to offer and check us out. We hope you will be pleasantly surprised. Thanks, PSOS

    Artist History
It was a dark and stormy night, and I had taken a creative writing course. Suddenly, a gust of wind blew open my window with all the force of nature. I turned and looked to the window to see nothing but my curtains flailing about. I pealed myself out of my chair and closed the window. When I turned about there was a man standing in my room with a paint brush- he was splattering paint all over my room. "Hey- Hey you!" I screamed. The man turned to me and said. "Listen." So I did. I heard a sound unlike any I had heard before. A beautifully haunting music played in the background. "What is this music I hear?" I asked with the guile of a child. "That, my friend, is the distress signal of postmodernity. It cries in out in the agony of obscurity." "Then I shall take this music to the people!" I declared. "I will deliver it from its wasteland! I will take it to mp3.com." "I knew you would." Spoke the man. As he dissipated into the night I stirred with nervousness. "Who are you?" I called. But there was no answer, my path had been placed before me and I knew what I had to do.
