The disc opens with two somber tracks, pulling odd, looming samples from the dark corners, and with sparse, downtrodden male vocals - almost like a male version of Empress or Hood's more depressing moments. Then the 3rd track kicks things up a notch, leading in with a steady beat, guitar+drums, and suddenly kicking out the loudrock jams, and just as suddenly reverting to a quiet, pretty, pensive guitar melody, fading out with warbling droning samples. The disc continues in this unique vein of surprises amidst highly talented musicianship.
