Artist description Hello. My name is Marcin Zajac - my handle is Essential Sound (ex. Estrogen). I come from Elblag in Poland. I making electronic, ambient and trance music. I started to play with computers back in the year of 1988, when parents bought for us (me and my bros) first little box interlarted with electronic stuff - that was immortal COMMODORE 64 machine indeed. First phase of my computer usage was filled with games. Unfortunately i didn't have chance to have fun with SID's brillant music, beacuse my older brother badly connected compy to audio set, and this caused that sound chip burnt. After this unlucky accident i tried to send commy to various service shops, but they failed to repair it. After all i started to write some short programs and to paint some computer graphic (in ART STUDIO as i good remeber). In the 1992 an old commy was replaced with Amiga 1200. In these days that was a best computer in the world, and by dint of it i got to know some audio software and made a first compositions. Same year i met a guy called FAZI who taught me a lot about art of making tracker music - i can't remember, but he probably was only one who was making modules in Elblag in these times. My beginnings were very hard and also piteous. I started my music trip with PROTRACKER, but wasn't interested in it so long, because later i got OctaMED, which i use till today. Also have to mention about a very good piece of software named MUSIC LINE EDITOR with the help of i made few climatic tracks. This prog, as one of few, were equipped with filters options (resonators, phasers and others). I think it's a best tracker in its group (synth), and in my opinion famous THX/AHX isn't in a quarter good as it. In 1996 a GARBAGE scenish group were borned, founders were Cyrnox (my brother), Luka and me. At start main organizer were Cyrnos, then me. We had realised nothing special due lack od main motive force in a person of talented and productive coder. :( Also same year my brother bought first accelerate card - Blizzard 1230/50mhz + 8mb of fast ram, which made my composing much free. Later i joined ELBLAG TECHNO SCENE (EST), which helped me to wide my musical horizons. In a local radio station "Radio EL", especially in "CZEKOLADOWY PUDDING" (CHOCOLATE PUDDING) broadcast, Krzysztof Jaworski presents EST creations (also of mine). In eventful year of 1997 I played my first live act with guys from PHILADELPHIA PROJECT (Jamer and Tuner). Next to us CODE MTM and ENEMY UNIT PROJECT also had their shows. That was one big improvisation. I remember that year due other thing too, my brother sold present Amiga with hope to buy newest, better machine. Unhappily this operation failed so in a result i had to finish tracks for my first LP on my friends computers. As first man from EST i recorded a demo material on audio cd - that was first quarter of 1998. On this record named "TWORCZOSC NIESKONCZONOSCI" (INFINITY'S CREATION) i put climatic trance, ambient and electronic compositions. Some time later i bought new computer and returned on demo scene, also visited two great parties - "ASTROSYN" held in Koszalin and "SATELLITE" in Szczecin. I tried to compose more and this creation time brought another audio LP - "SYNDROMEDIA". I recorded it at December 20th year of 1999. I put a lot of work on it, but i think it was worth of effort, because i think this material is a kind of uncommon. Another LP, which I recorded on Summer 2000, is named "THE RACE". This is a soundtrack for VHS tape "RAJDOWE SAMOCHODOWE MISTRZOSTWA POLSKI 2000" (POLISH RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP 2000). In a studio, where music was set-up'ed, people forgot about mastering, so quality of sound doesn't satisfy me. In the end of year i bought my first synthesiser - YAMAHA CS1X. At Present I creating music with using YAMAHA CS1x connected by MIDI with Amiga. OctaMED Soundstudio v1.03c is programme in which I write main compositon. The OctaMED also is connected by arexx port with AMCCS1x v0.1 (I using and modifing XG sounds by this programme). All tunes I corected in: Sound Probe II, Cool Edit Pro and Sound Forge with plugins. In future i plannig extend my www.essential.prv.pl site about my mp3, modules and info. My deepest dream is releasing an album with my compositions.
