Artist History
Twilight Throne was formed sometime in January 1999. A guy named Roine Öberg (guitar, vocals) left the band Artless Utopia, a band that had existed for about three years. Artless Utopia also consisted of Robban Wiklander (drums, vocals), Martin Svanberg (guitar) and Hasse Skoglund (bass).
Robban, Martin and Hasse had no intention to quit playing, so they started up a nameless band in Stöde, rehearsing with Tomas Lärkfors on vocals. Tomas asked Pär Salmi (a guy he had played with in a another band) if he wanted to play some guitar. He did, and joined the band right away. They started playing mostly old metal-covers for some time. Then Robban came up with a couple of own songs, Pär came up with a name (yes, Twilight Throne) and the wheels were in motion. After a couple of months, Tomas' singing wasn't turning out as good as they had hoped, and he left the band. Robban took over the singing temporarily, and as it was hard to find a new singer, he continued singing behind the drums.
In the year of 2000, TT (now rehearsing in Sundsvall) continued to work mostly on their own songs, and in the summer they auditioned a new singer, Patrik Forsberg. He joined the band and brought a couple of songs with him. In the autumn TT did two gigs, but after the last one (which wasn't good) the band got kind of apathic. After a while, Hasse, Pär, Martin and Robban started rehearsing without Patrik, and after another while TT tried out a new singer, Kris Dybeck, who then became a member of the band.
In 2001, TT had a couple of gigs, and in October they went to TBV's studio in Sundsvall and recorded a 5-track demo. The demo was named after one of the songs, "Queen Of Fire", and is available only from the band members at the moment (and to be ordered from this page - see the TT shop section). Right now, TT are in the process of writing new songs for a future recording, and rehearsing for gigs. |
