Artist History
Johnny Carroll first appeared on the music scene in October 96', under the name of DJ-Blaylock, he released "Sheep" a 5 track EP, at that stage Johnny was only 11. This Album was constructed by using midi files. Three years later, Johnny had his 2nd release "Rosa Parks", a lot more maturity shown from "Sheep". But Johnny got his most success in Late 00' Early 01', when he changed his name to MOTLEY. Producing 60 tracks in that small period of about 6 months. In July he decided to scam 15 of the best into his first ever album "Songs From The Hootenanny", as at the stage and still is, The Hootenanny's Resident DJ. This album brought the young 15 into the line light. "Taco Nation (As One)" was the featured song off this album, which he produced with a local friend DJ-Quantity. It didn't take long until Johnny got into the making of his next album "2002 Year Of The Motley", released December 01'. This album saw the likes of "Butterfly" that manage to scrap into the Top 20 Dance Aria Charts in the first week of 2002. Most critics said it was just a couple of tracks short of a masterpiece of an International DJ. "2002 Year of The Motley" also gave everyone what genre Motley really is, Melodic Trance, with such melodic tracks like "The Cry Has No Sense", "Disco Dawn" & "Artic Twilight". 2002 is definitely the year of the Motley, his 3rd album "Composed Of Diverse Elements" being released in August 02', this certainly placed his name into a list of superstar Melbourne DJ's. "Composed Of Diverse Elements" showed the maturity that Johnny has grown with every track A-class material. "Get The Clap" was the first released and looks to be the Summer Anthem of 2003. "Summer Seduction", "I Saw An Angel" & "The Crystal Glowstick" are also set for a release later in the year. The name of this album is correct was its composed of such genres like Melodic & Progressive Trance, Tribal, Erotica, Ambient & Hard House. This Album is without doubt the best underground Melodic Trance Melbourne release in 2002.
