Artist History
Anton Zytnik is twenty five years old and lives in London. These songs are an introduction to a body of work that covers ten years and comprises nine full length records. The artist spent several early years playing the hotel and coffee house circuit in Adelaide, South Australia, Where The Maudlins were formed with bassist Duane De Gruchy and drummer George Nisyrios. Anton Zytnik later moved to Sydney, Australia, where he continued to write, record and play as a solo performer.
The music itself is the most important thing. The songs are personal experiences, taken from diaries, dream books and poems. These are pop songs that get straight to the point and remain in your head, but retain the storytelling approach of folk.
His influences include Pinback, Drunk, Red House Painters, Rachels, and Yo La Tengo. He is an artist with vast experience and potential, and a unique and haunting sound.
