Artist History
20 Minutes to Park is an energetic acoustic duo based in the college town of Bloomington, Indiana. Comprised of Josh Gilmore, age 21, and Mitch Strohm, age 20, 20 Minutes to Park is much more than a band name. It's a phrase that represents two artists in constant development. After meeting in 2001 the two wasted little time developing a unique sound that couples complex guitar pieces with lyrical vision and reaches across several genres. Despite their surroundings the pair found their creative spark in a tiny dorm room they converted into a simple recording studio. Their love for playing music is obvious to anyone and will surely be a driving force in the years to come.
Fans of their music often wonder where the name "20 Minutes to Park" came from. While somewhat obscure the name holds true meaning for Josh and Mitch. Prior to their first gig as a duo the two had some serious difficulty finding a parking spot. Following the gig the two were telling a friend about their first gig that night and one said, 'yea, man it took us 20 minutes to park.' The name stuck and the duo has been playing as 20 Minutes to Park ever since.
20 Minutes to Park currently has over 20 original songs in production. Josh and Mitch have an optimistic eye to the future and are continuously working on new material and adding fresh content to every tune. As the pair continues to play more gigs throughout Indiana and surrounding areas, they encourage everyone to catch a live show. Their music is best experienced in person and is, by all accounts, a unique experience.
