Artist description
First of all, our name is really Throwback. Some other band had taken it already, but I'm sure we had it first. Anyway,Throwback's sound resembles that of many of their favorite musicians all rolled into one band. They have a very hard rock edgy sound. Following in the footsteps of there favorite musicians (Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, Marvelous 3, Buckcherry, Rolling Stones, Motley Crue, etc.) with loud guitars, raw vocals, and a thunderous rhythm section, Throwback comes out roaring and doesn’t stop until the show ends. |

Music Style
Throwback is, and always has been, committed to the true spirit of rock n’ roll music. They approach music the same way they approach life, loud and hard. Their mission is to bring rock music hammering into your ear drums. With an uncompromising style, Throwback will continue to entertain and produce in your face rock n’ roll. |

Artist History
Throwback came around in the spring of 2000 when Ben Czar and Spurgeon Dunbar started jamming around in Spurg’s basement. With only Spurg on guitar and Ben on drums it wasn’t long before they needed to start recruiting members. Drew Lazo, known by Spurgeon through a mutual friend began sitting in with the band on vocals. With three positions filled, they continued to look for the remaining members. Around this time Drew’s brother Brent got home from college for the summer and began playing rhythm guitar for the band. With this line-up in order they started playing small shows locally (Parkland Art Show, Kempton town fair, Kutztown, frat parties…etc.) without a bass player.
They continued with this line-up throughout the summer and into the early fall. Then after a frat party in late October they had a falling out with their drummer Ben who decided to leave Throwback due to marital issues. Around this time Spurg’s long time friend Ryan Barrett began to play bass for the band, along with Drews friend Bob Sooy who began sitting in on drums. Bob was only with the band for one show and then left to continue with his band The Parachute All Stars. Once again Throwback was in need of a committed drummer. During this time Spurg started jamming around with old friends. During one of these sessions a buddy Chris Sorrentino started playing drum beats over the guitar riffs that were flowing throughout the room. Spurg pulled Chris aside after the session and said he was looking for a drummer for a band he was playing in and asked if he would be interested, Chris not doing much else jumped at the chance to start playing on a regular basis.
The next month Chris and Barrett spent mastering all the original material that the band had compiled over the year. But it wasn’t long before Throwback would once again be without a drummer. The band didn’t feel Chris was working out with the bands sound, so they decided to let him go. Tired and discouraged from a constant search for a new drummer they decided to try out old friend and fellow musician, T.J. Moser. T.J. mastered and improved the band’s songs within a week, and became the perfect replacement for original drummer Ben Czar. Now, with a crew of rag tag musicians who want nothing more in the world then to make it as a rock band, they spend all there time practicing, looking for shows, and rocking the hell out of the local scene.
