Artist History
In 1997 I went to the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas.
There was a lot of music out in the grove where we camped,
but I did not own an instrument and could only fill-in on guitar
if one of my friends set theirs down.
So I decided that by the time I made it to another festival
I would be playing banjo.
I started out playing bluegrass banjo
but switched to clawhammer after a brief lesson
from Frank Lee of the Freight Hoppers
at the Santa Fe Trails Bluegrass Festival
that was held in Gardener, Kansas.
And I've never look back. |
