Artist History
Formed in November 2001 after a prolonged sensory deprivation experiment. Rubber Band Banjo (RBB) set out to make a soundtrack to the rejected outtakes of the 1929 surrealism film "Un Chien Andalou" (this is somewhat apparent on the first 4-track EP entitled 'Loop Humor Therapy'). RBB then decided to make a soundtrack to capture the unheard sonic atmosphere of a blender with ingredients being added and sucked out continuously on the full-length album 'Hybrid Musical Organisms'. Both of these albums were released on the imaginary record label called 'Ruptured Eardrum Records'. The next album (still in the making which will be completed by December 2002 at the latest) attempts to integrate as many genres from the musical junkyard as possible to form a continuous listenable (and sometimes danceable) array of semi-hypnotic and just plain wacked out rhythms. We'll see how it turns out. If anyone out there enjoys the sounds of Rubber Band Banjo and is looking for a new artist on their record label, please let me know! |
