Artist History
The DaisyChain Music Fair is an annual benefit that encompasses five days and two stages of female-focused Portland-based performers, totaling more than 60 acts. This event is the largest gathering of women-fronted acts ever staged in Oregon. Last year's debut event featured many of the region's top drawing pop, rock, folk and roots acts.------This benefit will replenish a discretionary fund dedicated to helping women address non-medical needs in breaking the chains of violence. The Women's Safe Passage Fund is administered by the Old Town Clinic and provides short-term shelter and support to women in transition. Director Dr. Neil Rendelman says: "Studies have shown that after exhausting our medical support, a quarter of our patients will lose their lives to street and domestic violence. This fund will be a life saver."
-------The Old Town Clinic is an Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon program. It's mission is to provide quality medical care for all, especially for low-income residents of downtown Portland. It serves over 3000 patients a year, totaling more than 9000 visits.
