Artist description
We don't really sound like any of our influences; we sort of mesh them together (guess thats a good thing). The singer/guitarist, Jesse Morris, is influenced mostly by melodic hard rock like Tool and Incubus. The drummer, Nick Brown, has punk, heavy metal, and jazz influences. The newb, Vadin has mad reggae influences. The 2nd guitarist, Jim Fell, learns from the blues and heavy metal. When we combine our musical powers it makes for some tasty grooves. |

Artist History
Stalling Dawn began in the members' Freshman year of high school. After 2 years of plugging away writing crappy, crappy songs, we finally hit on something we actually liked. That something was the song Torn. Soon we began to explore what texture and ambiance could do to our music, and so we wrote Goodbye. Our playing has evolved to make full use of the two guitar players we have, evidenced in Debt. After dropping our original bassist in mid-2002 due to creative differences we stumbled upon closet bass player, Vadin Lall Dass. Raised on reggae and calypso, what he lacks in experience, he more then makes up for in groove and skill. Most of our writing now comes from full band impromptu jams. We are currently working out kinks in new material, with plans to go back into the studio, and then rock some socks off. |
