Artist description
Relocating to Nashville in the fall of 1995 from the small town of Basin, Wyoming, this petite fiery redhead has all the attitude and talent one could possibly hope to find in an up and coming star.
At the tender age of two, Delana was already singing at her church in the shadows of the Big Horn Mountains. At age ten, she began singing in contests throughout Wyoming, and by age eleven had won her first major competition by placing first in the Jimmy Dean Talent Contest in Cody, Wyoming against a field of talent all over the age of twenty-one. This became only the first of many awards she would win due to her vocal talent and amazing stage presence.
At the urging of local radio personalities, her mother loaded the truck and moved Delana to Nashville when she was fourteen. In order to complete her education and concentrate on a career as an artist, Delana began and completed her required courses through home schooling. She is also a graduate of the Barbizon School of Modeling, and the John Casablanca Modeling and Talent School.
Since moving to Nashville, Delana has won numerous vocal contests including events at the Wildhorse Saloon, Nashville Palace, 16th Avenue Cafe, and the Texas Troubadour Theater. Just as proud to boast Aretha Franklin and Bonnie Raitt as influences as she is Dottie West and Wynonna, Delana believes that a powerful stage presence as well as a strong vocal performance is essential in giving the audience "more than they paid for".
When a young artist combines style, attitude, and pure talent, the results can be stunning. When you see and hear Delana Stevens, you will agree. |
