Artist History Amber was formed in Oct. 2001 The instrumentation, which includes vocals , vibes, bassguitar and drums, show their courage to play quiet music that needs attention from the listener. The chord-playing bassguitar and the soft melody lines from the vibes make a melodic foundation for the vocals of Biljana Stojkoska. The idea for this formation has been growing through the 12 years Jan Nissen (bassguitar) and Martin Soelmark (vibes, ,drums) has worked together in different bands. They have now together with Biljana found a way to express the honesty they admire from artists like The God Machine, Spain and Will Oldham. Their first recording, recorded dec-jan 2001-02, has so far given them gigs in small clubs where there has been no room for a drum kit. It has given the band the possibillity to try to play their songs in the most vulnerable way (no drums to take away the focus). Their latest ep ”amber: she said: look it`s starting to snow ” was recorded live in a studio Nov.2002. At the moment they are playing gigs in Copenhagen and around Denmark. Their line-up is still the same only now Martin Soelmark is switching between the drumkit and the Vibraphone give the music a wider range. They will be recording a full-length album Nov.-Dec. 03 Which will be ready for release February. 2004.
