Artist description
Coming straight out of Faribault, Minnesota,
Grandmother Squash is ready to take you on an
emotional journey of rock. They are sick and
tired of waiting around on mullets driving rusted
out pickup trucks. The band blends hard and spacey
rock that has both instumental and vocal qualities.
Grandmother Squash can go from telling the tale of
a love story to telling the tale of redneck fools
who live in their home town. Their combination of
humor and emotion gives them a great stage presence
taking the audience from laughter to amazement. |

Artist History
Grandmother Squash formed in the fall of 1999
under the name Inlet. After deciding the metal
image was not what they wanted, they dropped
their original singer and went back to their
roots in grunge and early 90's rock. From those
influences they built a solid base of original
songs which come from the heart.
Grandmother Squash loves the stage. The live
show is definitely where they shine. However,
over the summer of 2001 they decided to put
together their first album. It is entitled
"so little time to leave so much behind" and is
composed of ten original tracks. It can be
purchased at www.grandmothersquash.com for $5.
The Fall of 2001 brought a short break to the
band as two of its members journeyed to college,
but in the short times they were able to regroup,
they have written many new songs and added
guitarist Ben Koziolek. Over the holiday season
of 2001, Grandmother Squash put down much higher
quality new tracks for an EP entitled Missing Her.
All of the tracks can be downloaded here.
GSquash had a big summer of gigging doing shows
all over the Twin Cities metro area. The band is
currently working on producing a new demo/live
disc. |
