Artist description
Darrell Hines is really a songwriter, not so much a singer or performing artist.
Working from a home-based 24-track studio, I create musical compositions that could fall
into a number of genres but each is written and produced
the try and share the emotion behind it.
The hope and desire is to find a financial and
musical outlet for my music. |

Artist History
Born in Kankakee, IL in August 1962, I am the middle child
of seven (7). I was always into singing and being the "human beat box".
Most of my desire to create music and my since of style can be attributed
to my youngest sister Melaine Ramos. She is extremely creative and continues
to inspire my musical direction. My brothers [Larry, and Eddie] played trumpet
and saxophone through highschool as well as Cynthia [younger sister] playing
flute had an impact on my music as well.
I began writing more defined music in 1982 using
a Casio MT-68 portable keyboard. I formed "The Decion Group"
in early 1998 in an attempt to combine several creative
efforts which include musical compositions for video and film,
as well as CGI animation, and songwriting. Very early efforts included
"Victoria" [written for the Kankakee area R & B group named Perfect Timing], and
"Autumn's Theme". Neither will be found on MP3.com but collections containing
versions of these works can be purchased.
I now live, work, and create in the San Diego area. The yearly release of a collection
of work in my intention.
