Artist History
Uncle Danny started out in 1990 playing the local pub scene under the name The Essence and gradually built up a cult following playing mainly covers of their favourite songs with the odd original tune thrown. The band had a mixture of different bass players and drummers before settling on todays line-up. Playing up to four times a week the band became one of the forerunners on their local circuit whilst starting to churn out music of their own. It wasn`t long before they grew out of the pubs and into clubs after winning a battle of the band competition in widnes. This led to the recording of their first demo and a move to better venues such as The Lomax, The Limelight, The mean Fiddler etc........whilst still playing the local circuit and attracting local interest. It wasn`t long before they made the first of many journeys abroad to play beginning with East Germany which gave them a licence to cause havoc off stage as well as on it.
