Artist History
In 1996 David Moran and Cory Bowman, as Naked, wrote and produced the album Hold. After completing the recording they set about finding musicians to help support their live performances, as David had played both the drums and all of the guitars on the album. They enlisted Jeff Johnson to play the drums, and David's former highschool bandmate and longtime friend Morgan Littlejohn to play bass guitar. Morgan's musical influences had grown in their time apart to include the likes of Jamaroquai, James Brown and other funk and groove-oriented bands. While combining this element of feel with the sound that Naked had already created at once expanded the possibilites of areas that this band could move in, it also left them with a cd full of material that wasn't really represenative of who "they" all were now and with where they wanted to move their music to. They adopted a new name for the group, The Population, and left Naked behind and the about 600 copies of the cd Hold in storage. |
