Artist History
round round get around i get around. you can create yourself to be anything you want to be, as long as what you create is authentically yourself.when the poet gets inside himself, he finds that he has not just one identity, but hundreds of identities. |

Press Reviews
hey yes wow my goodness soos:once a person gets into this cd, it's like a whole history of something. as with anything, it takes getting into the wavelength. but once there, the listener is a goner. reminds me of: leadbelly's last sessions, woody guthrie's library of congress recordings, robert johnson's recordings, elvis' sun sessions. reminds me of those recordings because it is a breakthrough of something and because it is so all-encompassing. it's a tremendously evocative portrait of america and comes at a good time: millenium time. it's an american original, totally unique. also, it takes poetry one step further in terms of music. woody, robert johnson, dylan started this poetry and music business, and folks like neil young, tom waits, lou reed, and jim morrison continued it. but i think that this is taking it one step further, using poetry that really works on paper, real poetry as it were, and making it work in music.i don't know that commercial success means much as far as this 2-cd set goes. it has the classic proportions of woody, leadbelly, and robert johnson. and they never saw much commercial success in their lifetimes. the voice is magnificent. guitar work outstanding. the overwhelming genius is one of passion. the passion that takes the songpoems to the edge and sometimes over the edge. yeah. the version of "poetry is dangerous" is fantastic! love the piano and the moody vocal. wow! it's great! very very effective. don macqueen does a great job on woodwinds too on the two numbers he plays on. i love the folk and blues primitiveness and yet professional quality of all the cuts. approaches genius.-University of Southern Coloradoslow night guitar blues has a very very classic feel to it! likesome lost underground ghost rockabilly classic! very very catchy! love thewolf howl! this is like a drowsy night on the bayou! you can cut the airwith a knife! man, a somnambulist ballad! lorca would love it! zenlike:effortless effort! for me, it is a beautiful contrast to train of love. both of themsort of a new direction. very classy! they work good together as a newsound that is taking the music a step farther! really magnificent! hit potential!wowee rich no souvenirs is absolutely beautiful! incredibly gorgeous! man, this one makes the ears feel good! this one makes me more excited than everabout the new songs! such a variety of music! yes this one is a must!very haunting! very beautiful! what a love song! man, would make someonefall in love! |
