Artist History The band Portal consists of four members. Carlos Monserrat is the vocalist. Carlos is 20 years of age. Carlos was born in the phillipines. Second is Chris Murguia. Chris is from mexico, he is our guitar player who is 19 yrs. old. Third member is the bass player, Javier Gardeazabal. Javier was born in Argentina, Javier is 19. Last would be the drummer and percussionist, Christopher Eck. Christopher is also 19 and he is from America. This band has been together for a matter about a year, and so far we've come a long way. When we first started, everything came together really fast and we didn't know what to expect. All of us fit really well, but there was just the part where we had to practice. With all of our different perspectives, cultures, and backgrounds, this brought about different ideas making the music more elaborate and technical. With all of this in mind practice is what we did. Its been hard and time consuming, but it's well worth it. We were always practicing, coming up with new ideas, they sounded good at the time. Eventually we had all these songs and never really looked back to see what we had, what kind of style we were . As a band we never want to be fit into any category, we feel no band or musical act should be categorized, but even if our music was categorized, we would still think of it as unique as any other type of music. Having said that, you can decide where we fit in.
