Artist History fished by his mother from a little boat of reeds in the world's second-largest river, tiny mactra was raised under the influence of marsh gasses and the syncopated rhythms of new orleans. when he reached the age of setting forth, he journied to the tobacco-leaf-shaped island of formosa, where he studied chinese opera and taiwanese easy listening. now resettled in chicago, home of thriving electronica, mactra combines the sounds of these three disparate places. please sample his sonic curiousities--they are curiously strong.
