Press Reviews
"Octave riders throw a little slap bass and Budweiser-class, Replacements-style brawl into their catchy Emo, but don't let that dissuade you. These infectious tunes rock hearts in tow." (Kelly B.; www.listen.com) *************************************************************** "New project getting off the ground with a whole lot of heart. Pays homage to the alternative sounds of the early '90s. Party rock for the new millenium." (Jane Jubilee, The Aquarian Weekly) *************************************************************** "This Emocore instrumental ('In Time' early '99) builds from twinkling and sweet to a sonic explosion. Soft and languid, the music speaks for itself without the overly anguished lyrical stylings of the typical emo vocalist." (Kali H.; www.listen.com) *********************************************************** Two Weeks From Tomorrow, a Ridgefield, New Jersey Emo band really impressed me. I particularly like the fact that these guys are not afraid of dynamics and melody. Vocalist, Doug Facciponti demonstrates his versatility on tracks like "Groundhog's Day", where a more Punk vibe is generated. Diametric emotion is displayed in tracks like "In Time" and "Time I Never Had" where the vocal is more subdued but by no means is it weak. Facciponti is a flexible vocalist with a great overall sound. Bass players are usually cast as background musicians, which in itself is a shame, but Two Weeks' bassist Chris Allen steps out of the shadows in the band's recordings and into the spotlight at times, backing up and accentuating Joe Pezzillo's guitar lines, adding a little slap and flash at the right times and knowing when to kick back and give the band a thumping rhythm along with drummer John Fitzpatick. Allen, however, has recently left the band and is replaced by Frank Abruzzo. The guys have been together as a unit since the spring of 1999 and are active performers. Check their website for performance dates and times. Also, take advantage of the MP3 downloads available, I think you'll be pleased with what you hear. (Dave at www.dmusic.com) *************************************************************** Two Weeks From Tomorrow - Time I Never Had (3.10M).....TTTYou've got to hand it to the singer of TWFT for putting every last bit of breath into his performance on this track - a pop-rocksong which would be identical to everyone else's uninspiring efforts if it wasn't for his enthusiastic involvement. Once they've gotsomething really catchy for us to get our ears around, TWFT could be unstoppable. This group are a prime example of rawpotential waiting to happen. http://surf.to/twang/ |
