Press Reviews
"...what Williams is doing is developing a songwriting style all his own. In the process he's building an audience and creating a strong catalogue of material from which to draw, depart and grow. Williams may not be the flavor of the month(yet), but he's a performing songwriter that's worth watching. Sooner or later he'll time it right or time will right him. An overnight sensation in the making?" - John Porter / Performing Songwriter "Greg Williams takes his 60's references of Hendrix and especially Dylan and weaves them into an edgy, bluesy yet instantly likeable folk/rock. Asia Maya Zen is packed with a dozen hummable tunes led by Williams' low-key, emotionally stirring vocals. Superb."- Hal Horowitz/Atlanta Press."In an age of detached irony, Asia Maya Zen is unafraid to be passionate. Its songs combine the world weariness of the troubadour with the live-for-today spirit of the garage band.Radio-friendly? Definately. But we mean that in the best way."- Jim Morekis/Creative Loafing." Immediately interesting from the opening moments of "Stella, we are taken on a journey...the album is excellent"- Ross/hEARd Magazine (Australia)"Cd of The Week"-Sept.1999-Planete Indie FM106, Belgium." Driven by Williams' spectacular voice, the band is a must-see!" Good Times Magazine/ N.Y.C. |
