Artist History gentlyfall was formed in Singapore in early 1998 by brothers Joel and Jerel. The band was named after a Darling Buds song. In 1999, gentlyfall relocated to Perth, Australia where they are currently based.

Press Reviews Singapore Straits Times - Homegrown band Gentlyfall's debut album is a superb sonic dreamscape of 10 tunes that let you seep, ever so gently, into the rich texture of guitar-driven sound and musing lyrics. This trio, comprising brothers Jerel and Joel Louie and friend James Kow, joins the barrage of young talents out there who refuse to be put down by the lack of commercial support, and have turned to releasing albums independently. The band's main influence is the late '80s British dreampop scene, represented by the likes of Irish band My Bloody Valentine. They also named Yo La Tengo and the Red House Painters among their sources of inspiration. Recorded over five months - between December last year and April - this album is an inspired, DIY home-made production that shoegazers out there will love. One of the tracks, Time, was recorded live at the Passion 99.5 FM studios when the band appeared on the programme On The Fringe. Songs to take note of are the title track, Hush, Resonate, Sonicblissfulthinking and Drowning In A Cesspool Of Love. Rating: 4 out of 5
