Artist History
Earcandy was started in 1999 by Ray Bryant. After many failed attempts to find a serious project, Ray decided to start his own. However, he resolved that this time things would be different. Ray decided that a group with the right chemistry, tools, goals and motivation could achieve anything. The name originated from Ray's love for Rock Music. When asked to explain the name, he would say "If Rock & Roll is sweet music to your ears, then have we got a little EARCANDY for ya!". EARCANDY started backwards by recording an album first with its new members, thus giving a solid foundation for the band to stand on of great original music. After one year of promoting their music online, EARCANDY was playing a music festival in L.A. The Bands second year brought another album, more clubs, more worldwide attention and fans over the web. The 3rd year, another album and a few changes in the bands line up. Now in the 4th year the band is beginning work on yet another album. EARCANDY adopted a policy of a new song every month until they get someone's attention. With the help of talented members, a worldwide cyber fan base, and the advent of the digital home studio, EARCANDY is proving that there is more than one way to get what you want in today's world. All you have to do is stick to the plan and keep using the talent that god gave you, and you can do anything.

Press Reviews
Review of the band EARCANDY from STUTTER MAGAZINE IN THE NETHERLANDS Gabor Kleinbloesem Editor of Strutter'zine RAW CANDY-EARCANDY (INDEPENDENT) Formed a year ago, Oklahoma's EARCANDY has already released two albums. Both albums are now available as one CD titled 'Raw candy' that is available through mp3.com. There are 11 songs on the CD and musically there is a split between melodic rocksongs and groovy southern rocksongs. Of course I prefer the melodic rock typed tunes and therefore my favourite songs are "White bird", "Demon me" and "The rage in a rebels eyes". The first two are classy 80s cheerful hookladen American melodic rockers a la SLYBOYZ, VON GROOVE… "The rage in a rebels eyes" is a great midtempo AOR/Melodic Rocker, sounding like a cross between VELOCITY and 38 SPECIAL. But apart from these 3 songs, the rest is totally different and moves sometimes in pure Southern Rock territory. Songs like "Rock&roll revival", "Light of day", "Baby's got rhythm" and "Livin that way" are weak songs, very groovy and Southern Rock based. Some of the other songs such as "Pay to play", "Monday morning" (uptempo hard rock a la CINDERELLA), "Rain" and "That's cool!" (POISON meets ZZ TOP) are ok, but nothing that special. Hopefully the band throws in more melodic rockers (like the first 3 mentioned songs), then they would be much more interesting. Nevertheless, a band worth checking out, maybe the songs aren't always convincing, the lead singer has a very good voice, something which is very important (to me) for a rockband.
