Artist History Dr. David Siu, M.D. and Steve G. Mitchell and other MIDI artists have been collaborating on MIDI creations for several years. The CMR Players is simply an outlet for those MIDI files appearing on The Classical MIDI Resource that have now been rendered as high-quality MP3 audio files. These performances are created through the laborious process of hand-editing each track so that the result sounds as realistic as possible with the current state-of-the-art in equipment and technology. Our goal here is not to attempt to replace musicians in any way, but only to be able to provide what could best be called a 'reasonable facsmile' of particular orchestral works you may or may not be familiar with.

Group Members Steve G. Mitchell, Dr. David S. Siu, M.D., other MIDI artists like Reinhold Behringer, and George Pollen, a MAC, some PCs, and a great deal of MIDI/Digital Audio hardware

Instruments Primary source is GigaStudio 160 2.5, with sample sets from Garritan's Orchestra Strings, Quantum Leap Brass, Peter Siedlaczek's Advanced Orchestra, XSample Brass & Woods, and the Ultimate String Collection. Additionally, including Custom created Soundfonts using technology from EMU, Sonic Network, Inc. Hardware used includes the Roland JV-1010 w/Orchestra Expansion, SBLive (S/PDIF out), Wami Rack 24 Digital Audio I/O, Terretec EWS-88MT, several Flying Calf D/A Converters, M-Audio SuperDAC 2496, Lexicon MX-500 (for Soundstage), Yamaha 01V 24 Channel Digital Mixer, FOSTEX VR-800 Digital Mastering Recorder, and assorted PC's, MAC's and such
