Artist History
chunky fixta was created in the summer of '96 when john vincent-bass, jim reynolds-drums, and david mausley-guitar began creating music.
a couple of months into the project, david mausley returned to england for reasons unknown, and the band found benji rountree as a replacement guitarist. john, benji, and jim continued to revamp earlier material and write new music. it was at this time in summer of '97 that the true chunky sound was born. after a year of searching for a vocalist, the band found justin tastch who's
unique tone and range completed the sound. Since then, chunky fixta has played venues and self produced shows, parties , and festivals all over the triangle area(raleigh, durham, chapel, hill) places include, the 1999 special olympic world games (@meredith college and @ unc-ch hill), all kinds of festivals @ nc state university, the brewery, the local 506, the cat's cradel, lake boone trail country club, jillian's,the berkely cafe, and countless fraternity and social parties
the band released thier debut cd , entitled psi, in summer'99 and it is available at local record shops and at live shows. our fan base is ever growing and you can sign up on our mailing list by checking our website out at www.chunkyfixta.com
