Relentless Mobber: (Musica Music - TV show in California) Moving on to our next band, Present Thunder, coming all the way to us from New Zealand. I have to say that I was a bit surprised at their sound. I didn’t really expect them to sound the way they did. Of course I’m used to reviewing heavy metal and that genre. But after listening to Present Thunder, I was impressed. There is one song on that album that could go pro if they marketed it right. That song is Higher Ground. From the intense singing, to the killer guitar solos, to the mood tempos they managed to create in that one song, was just incredible. It reminded me of a mix between Dark Presence and Tool. David Howe, Ben Howe, Sean Fitzpatrick, Benz Alo, Jeff Soukotta, Henry Van Manen, are the members in this group. The CD is very well done. The other songs on the album are pretty good as well, but I think the real winner out of that album is higher ground. Some of the other songs on that CD also reminded me a little bit of a cross between Jewel and Fiona Apple. They all had strong vocal presence to back them up, which is very important in creating a good album. They’re on the Internet at www.mp3.com. Just type in Present Thunder and they should come up. They’re definitely worth checking out.
