Artist description
I play a spicy whacked-out mix of folk/jazz/pop with everything having a bit of irony and satire. Think of Lucille Ball as a musician. |

Artist History
I started playing professionaly when I was 15 years old. Soon after law school, I joined the Therapy Sisters, during which time I wrote several songs featured on Dr. Demento including Happy Whatever You're Having and Twenty Naked Pentecostals. Three years later I heard the call of a solo career. Since then I have been playing gigs around Austin and in the Southwestern United States. I have also been playing with several bands including The Big Band Sound of Austin, Mr. Fabulous, Goose Gumbo, Fascinating Rhythm, Extreme Dixie and The Maryann Price band. |

Press Reviews
"Former Therapy Sister Marilyn is the wicked wit of the West, feminism's answer to Tom Lehrer and one of the funniest players ever to tickle the ivories.""Delightfully quirky and amusing."Voted one of Austin's 10 best Keyboard Players in the 1998-99 Austin Chronicle Music Awards."So what do you say about someone who is incredibly versatile, amazingly creative, hilariously funny, ridiculously talented, sharp as a tack, but smooth as silk? I guess you don't say much of anything. You just sit back, listen, and enjoy!" |
