Artist History
Founding members and songwriting team Diane Boothby and John Boegehold met in 1990 and quickly discovered they had two things in common: both played mandolin, guitar and keyboards; and though both were experienced musicians and songwriters, neither had ever played in a cover band or written music that could be even remotely described as mainstream. After writing and recording several songs together, they enlisted three other players and formed the art-rock band "Map Of Shadows”. Into their second year of recording and playing around Los Angeles, their ever-evolving writing style made it apparent that an even more eclectic approach was called for. With some conceptual fine-tuning and lineup changes in mind, John and Diane went back the drawing board. Along with original bassist Dave Meros, "Orphan Moon" came together in 1993 with violinist-violist Candy Lerman. |
