Press Reviews
This is a review from some earlier demos:Vicious Kitten - August 1996by Denis Gray. When I get my hands on a demo like this one, it really slams home the point of why I love rock and roll so much. and also why I decided to publish a 'zine. I sincerely hope some label scout out there is reading this because the three songs contained on this demo are pure gold. Damian Child was formerly a member of Melbourne all-girl outfit Girl Monstar. and more recently was with Sine. Her vocals on the melody soaked‘Blue’ are simply delightful. This bright, refreshing, catchy, sunny slice of pop is extremely radio friendly -and with it’s big swooping chorus could be a smash. Love & Kisses is warm, up-tempo pop/rock at it's best - love it. The instantly addictive. groove laden Talking To Myself is bursting with energy - filled with more melt-in-your-mouth vocals, is guaranteed to remain in your head for days and completes this winning trio of first-rate songs. Besides handling all the lead vocals, she wrote the songs and performs bass as well as guitar and drum programming duties on this stunning effort with assistance from Paul O'Leary. Damian Child has nailed down that sweet, commercially addictive pop sound that so many bands strive for. and in future, when somebody asks me why my love for music is so great - I know exactly what I am going to play 'em. Somebody sign this girl up. |
