Artist History His real name is Alexander Lesnykh, and he was born in Russia on April 7th of 1957. Alaya is his pseudonym, which in translation from Sanskrit means "the Soul of the Universe". He has been playing music all his life, and his education includes completion of a music school specializing in piano, and graduating college with a major in conductoring. After graduation he played keyboard, sang, composed music, and wrote song lyrics for the rock groups "Slidie" and "Chain Reaction". However, after quitting "Chain Reaction", he couldn't play music for 5 years. He writes music that not only gives people high energy, but also enlighten their being. Through meditation and working with sounds and vibrations, he came to realize how these sounds can help transmit different kinds of energy to the human body and extend one's consciousness. The music he writes is a new form of New Age Music, which has a high level of energy, and encompasses the vastness and multi-dimensions of space.
