Artist description
Melody…for me it’s all about melody. Not flash
or shock or anything else… just melody. The seasoned
listener may detect subtle influences of many players
, yet re-interpreted in a unique style of writing and
performance. |

Artist History
Terry Halstead discovered guitar in 1961 when he heard an LP by Chet Atkins. He was hooked! From
then on he searched for records by all the masters of the day, spending literally all of his discretionary
time locked in his room, strapped to his guitar, listening and learning. “I actually wore holes in those
old LPs trying to comp licks”, he admits.
Through the end of the 60’s and the 70’s he played rock and blues, being featured on a number of
records. It wasn’t until the early 90’s though that he really defined his own style of “melodic jazz”.
