Artist History Mychal Simonz started his musical journey as a child prodigy at the age of 8 years old. He taught himself guitar, bass and various other instruments. By the age of fifteen Mychal part of an established band, called “Kingdom” playing gigs around Brooklyn, New York. After an honorable discharge from the Navy in 1982, he found himself being hired by local record producers as a bassist and to arrange string and horn parts. In 1984 Mychal Simonz, founded, "AFC Records", which sold more than fifty thousand record units nationwide. After recruiting long time friend, Mychal opened Gaphlin Entertainment Group. The two wrote songs and co-produced muti-platinum records for such artist as Ice Cube, Mack 10, Troop and many more. They also landed a song on the “Artist” [at the time “ formerly known as Prince”] on his “Emancipation” CD. The duo also penned two music soundtracks… “Set it Off” and “B.A.P.S.” both for New Line Cinema. Before closing its doors in 1998, Mychal Simonz and Gaphlin Entertainment Group had produced records for Atlantic Records, Priority Records, Elektra Records, New Line Cinema, and various independent labels, that generated over 12 million dollars in sales between 1992-1997. Today Mychal Simonz is a recording artist, radio personality and a composer for film and television.

Instruments Mychal plays various instruments, including Bass, Guitar, Trumpet, as well as being a vocalist.
