Artist History
Eugenio is a shelf-thaught musician wich developed his own technique over the years.Traveling trough Europe, living out of music for the past 7 years, he performed in small venues(Tapas bars and small theaters) where he learned to sing and developed a beautifull and original style of playing the guitar
Eugenio possesses an admirabile technique and a particulary expresive clarity of tone in his solos. Eugenio's music is is a mixture of melancolic and brutal emotions.
Eugenio simply loves music. Enthusiastically he studies it, lives it and plays it. |

Press Reviews
Guitar 9 -...."Guitarist Eugenio and his percussionist/manager Laura Martinez submitted a nine song CD entitled: Gitano Corazon" Working from a base in Holland, the duo's music is defined by the vibrant rhythms of Spain, the rumbas of Latin America, dark gypsy Flamenco and Latin Jazz improvisations. In addition to the original pieces, the album features a blazing flamenco style version of Rimsky's Korsakov "Flight of the Bumblebee". Eugenio has the ability to play clearly evecuted passages with passion and each composition has its virtuosic moments. He is also not afraid to mix musical genere's - the song "Reggae" has a Jamaican/Spanish feel, while "Desert Storm" blends Flamenco with Middle Eastern scales ideeas......Eugenio has the ability to play guitar using fingerstyle techniques (as in classical and flamenco styles) as well as highlly advanced regular picking techniques (as in Rock and Jazz music).......This is a talented pair who are doing a fine job expanding the Flamenco vocabulary both live and on record"( read all at: http://www.guitar9.com/undiscov31d.html)
Spits Magazine: (NL) ....." The Euro festival starts today on the program " Man bijt Hond " on Nederland 1. Today Eugenio and Laura Martinez from Spain (duo Alegria) will present their song......"
Popgids A'dam:......"Eugenio is a brilliant guitarist who allready winned many prices for his music, one of the fastest acoustic players at the momment. Influenced by a generation of guitar players like Paco de Lucia, Al di Meola and John mcLaughlin, he bringhs virtuous guitartechniques and combines them with old and new rhythms in an innovating new formula......." |
