Artist History
(Who made the Sun angry today?)
Like lightning striking a rock, Sam Antonio's parents collided. The smoke cleared. A child was born. Born in Brazil, he was raised on a horse farm outside of Chicago. Born Sammy Antonio Miqueloto, he was raised Samuel Anthony Miller.
(Who interfered in spiritual ways?)
His mother brought him to the United States when he was a child. She brought him here so that he could have a better life. She left him here. Adopted by missionaries, he was young enough to assimilate and old enough to remember. Sammy Antonio Miqueloto was abandoned in America so that he could have a better life.
(Who shot the Sun?)
He grew up. Samuel Anthony Miller served briefly, but honorably, in the United States Navy. He worked as a cook on a sub-marine. Samuel Anthony Miller attended briefly, but honorably, the Columbia College of Art and Design in Chicago. He majored in Art. He wandered. He picked up a guitar and discovered he had a voice.
(Who shot the Sun?)
Young enough to assimilate and old enough to remember, he re-christened himself. Sam Antonio. Antonio, to remember the child in Brazil. Sam, to prepare for the man in America. All-American, and yet undeniably foreign.
Sam Antonio.
This is his first collection.
