Artist History
Influenced by different styles, but keen on rocking out, the musicians came to Canada from various countries of former USSR (for some of them comming to Canada was a second immigration).
GL.A-Z was founded in early 1997, when 3 friends Stav, Zima and Monah met at the ZZ Top concert. (Un)fortunately, the concert was rained out and the guys retreated to somebody's appartment to form a band of their own (there were no Russian bands in Montreal then - there are only two right now - the guys were at the avant-garde).
Gradually other members joined, untill in 2001 the curent lineup stabilized around guys described in the "members" section. Inaddition to regular to rock band's instruments Gl.a-z uses flute, trumpet and celo in their concerts and recordings. |
