Since capturing a major prize at the Paganini International Violin Competition in Italy, Ms. Skorodin has performed extensively throughout Europe, often presenting premiere performances of works by American composers. In this country she has performed with the Baltimore, Chicago, Denver, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, National and St. Louis Symphony Orchestras and her coast to coast recitals included a performance at the White House. This classical violinist has also performed with nearly all the local groups including community orchestras like Lake Forest, Highland Park, and Chicago String Ensemble, and many, many more for the last 40 years.
In addition, Ms. Skorodin is a frequently artist on WFMT national broadcasts and on BBC radio and television. Her enormous repertoire and great passion for chamber music have matched her with such musical artists as Alfred Brendel, Gregor Piatigorsky, Davis and Igor Oistrakh, and Henryk Szerynk. Ms. Skorodin performs on a Stradivarious and studied under one of the best violinists to ever live, Jasha Heifetz. She is a long time Chicago resident, and resides in Glencoe.
